Lauren first began her career journey at West Thames College studying Beauty Therapy. This is where she learnt her holistic massage skills and where her love for Anatomy and Physiology truly began.
Lauren has 14 years of industry experience. In that time she decided to specialise in sports massage therapy. She studied Sports Massage at St Mary’s University Twickenham where she gained an ITEC Level 4 award with merit which allows her to use more advanced treatments and techniques such as soft tissue release (STR), muscular energy techniques (MET) and trigger pointing (NMT).
Lauren later returned to St Mary’s University and qualified to the highest level In Sports Massage Therapy- ITEC Level 5 with a Distinction.
This enables her to carry out further assessment and diagnostic techniques such as neurological testing, posture and gait analysis. She has since completed her latest course in osteopathic mobilisation techniques (LVLA).
For the past 9 years Lauren has run her own private practice treating an array of people from all different backgrounds, from symptoms relating to work posture/desk work, to people with general muscle aches as well as having the British Female Taekwon-Do World Champion as a regular client.
Lauren’s career has also seen her working within the arts industry, treating musicians, vocalists and actors in touring stage productions.
Lauren is known for her strong attention to detail when carrying out her assessments on clients, which enables her to establish and treat the root cause of the pain and not just the symptoms.
She is passionate about getting her client’s back to their best by helping to restore movement back to optimum function, thereby alleviating the symptoms.
For Lauren, seeing the progression with her client’s is the best part of the job as well as forever updating her knowledge in the form of continuous professional development courses on her favourite subject- The human body.
